The original, infuriating Ikea shopping experience that inspired this little opera has reached its own dramatic climax -- the unit I bought spontaneously imploded while being moved from one room to another. I managed to fix it with a bunch of screws and angle irons. I was considering adding footage of Ikea furniture in full collapse to this film, but I'll leave that to your imagination.
ENCORE !!! BRAVO !!!
Put it on Broadway.

I felt really identified by the video! We wrongly built a little stuff that finally was a bit useless... But Doctor Furniture helped us! And he determined that instructions were... wrong! ;P

That sums up my experience w/ Ikea as well... Infuriating place, eh.
I assembled this Besta Jagra TV stand from IKEA.
There was a problem though. The kit came with two right drawers (so one drawer doesn't close due to overlap). So I went back to Ikea with the two drawers but not the whole tv-stand which I already assembled and weighs a ton. After waiting forever the customer service rep told me he couldn't help because she needed the whole tv-stand to make the exchange. So I asked to speak to the manager & finally the store manager. They both proved useless. Both quoting policy that they need the whole piece of furniture. Apparently they have a strict policy against helping customers. I hate ikea. I was so fed up that I literally left the store screaming my opinion of ikea (no singing for me). Anyway, I think I'll just fix it on my own by finding a drill and making some holes that should have been made in China.
